Microsoft Museum

Monday, June 27, 2005

After Gnomedex I visted friends at Microsoft, and took a tour of the Microsoft Museum.  I visit my friends at Microsoft about once every year or so, but the museum has always been closed for renovations (got to keep it up to date, right?).  Finally it was open while I was there and I these are the the photos.

If you're interested in photos of the rest of the Microsoft campus, check out my other album, Microsoft Campus Tour, which I took on a previous visit.

I hadn't seen this XBOX controller before. Perhaps it was a prototype. Notice a Sega-like six button configuration instead of the current four + black and white.

I painted this on a tablet PC using ArtRage in just a few minutes. This is a must have application for the TabletPC - it makes painting on a computer super fun and easy.

The swirl of water behind these computers made me dizzy as I tried to update my web site from them.

Flash crashed on this display which let you use your hands as the controller.

Flash is not microsoft though, thats a Macromedia product (Adobe). So it was uplifting to see something other than an MS product crashing on display

At home I have two 19" monitors and it's nice - but even nicer is this computer with 9 19" monitors! I couldn't sit at it for very long - you can feel the heat and radiation coming off of it!
