Awesome, exactly what you need for the xbox. Since it has such a poor controller, plus its not worth playing halo 2 with the current controllers. This is what should have happened ages ago.

I agree with Mr. Anonymous about the right mouse button. I got so used to using the right mouse button to move forward that I can't get comfortable with this. If I knew of this before, I would not have purchased this. Why they left the ability to remap forward to the mouse button is beyond me.

Look, anyone with half an ounce of brain atoms can adapt to another control system. If 10 year kids can, so can anyone, Yes keyboard and mouse is great but I just fisished Halo/Halo 2 back to back and used the pad the whole way through, no qualms from me and I've played CS for friggin' years. Stop whining!

Kinetic - get over yourself, Its just an alernative way of playing, i find the xbox controllers (even the small ones) to be a tad bulky, ive adapted quite well to using keyboard and mouse controls, faster instincts... and generally easier gameplay...

somebody email me if i am wrong, but you cant set the sensitivity as high as you would on ur computer, it would only move so fast, and as soon as you stop sending the signal to move down or something...it stops..you know what i mean? you cant move it as fast as you want....because xbox wouldnt allow it probably...email me at counterbond@tds.net if you have used it and it worked fine..

for the people unfamiliar with PC FPS controls, the control key is usually crouch, spacebar is jump, shift is walk(counter-strike), and you assign each numeric key to a weapon. Like you might assign the 1 key to be your primary weapon, 2 to be your secondary, 3 to be a grenade etc. Your mouse basically takes the place of the right thumb stick, you use it to look sideways, up and down, and you use the left mouse button to fire and the right mouse click to use secondary weapon features like if you have a rifle with a scope/zoom feature or grenade launcher. Use the "R" key to reload and use WSAD to move forward, backward and strafe. W is forward, S is backward, A to strafe left, and D to strafe right.

The idea behind this set up is to make all your controls accessible to your left hand while maintaining your right hand on the mouse for pinpoint accurate shots to be able to look and shoot. Keep your thumb on the space bar and your pinky on control. Use your index for the D key to strafe right and you ring finger for A to strafe left. Use your middle finger for W and S depending on if you want to move forward or backward. Obviously, to switch weapons and reload, you will need to take your left hand off the keyboard slighty, which isn't a big deal since your weapon selection keys and reload key are on the same side as your other controls.

Now I specifically did a search to see if I could use a keyboard and mouse with my xbox for this purpose now I just need to know if this adapter is compatible with Halo 2 :( anyone know?

P.S. kinetic-- if you have been playing CS for years then you should have a lot of respect for the keyboard and mouse configuration. Another thing is, you say you beat halo and halo 2 back to back; that's great, now try doing it with the controller on Legendary instead of easy. I don't know about you, but I love my MX500 optical mouse for the freakin sweet accuracy especially in fast pace FPS' like CS and Halo just to make it easier to play since I am so used to PC shooters.

And like they said, it's just alternative controls for people who prefer PC controls you don't have to buy it although you might change your mind after getting your ass repeatedly wasted on live. With that said stop flaming and realize that we aren't whining we are just looking for a solution for us to play better. Yeah we may know the basic controls but there is a learning curve to become efficient with them and we would rather spend the time being competitive and playing rather than having to become fluent with the controls and getting our asses kicked all the time. That just kinda negates the fun which is the purpose of videogames, to have fun.

Kinetic, when I get a game I want to play it right away, I don't want to be forced to deal with something that feels wrong, for who knows how many hundred hours until I can almost approach the skill I already have with a keyboard and mouse

omg the xbox controllers are great! and wats the point of using a mouse and keypad on an xbox for games if u dont like the controllers than just sit on ur computer all day playing video games instead of wingeing about getting ur arse kicked because u cant handle a controller that like Kinetic said a 10 year old can use. ive finished halo 1 on legendary in about 1 hour and a half and halo 2 on legendary in a little bit less with the controller and i see nothing wrong with it. its got to be the best video game console controller out there! ps1 and ps2 controllers are ok but xbox has got to be the best and if u cant handle it then y did u even get an xbox in the first place? to me ur all a bunch of wingeing little sooks that just want to use watever means possible to beat everyone else.
