Fable is Peter's Molyneux idea that went wrong, wrong in development process, see Molyneux GDC05 videos. But of course, Will Wright, better say Maxis, had also disappointments with some SimCity 3000 promises, Sim'Something' sequels etc... I believe, due to GDC05 video, that Spore will be something really original and cool like SimCity idea was years before....

first off

1. You cannot make flying creatures. Only flying vehicles.

2.There is no demo yet and if Will Wright makes one it will probaly be 1-2 months before the game comes out.

3. Finally whoever makes a creature or any customizable thing in spore look like a dick or boobs is probally a low life nerd who gets history books at a library that have naked indians in them and touches his or herself at night :)

Man, I've been waiting for 2 years for this game and every 3 months they postponed it another 8 months. I'ts not comming out till around Oct. 2007 it was supost to come out Nov. 2006 but you know Will W. has to be perfect!!!! No complaints here. I just wish there was a betta some where =(

ive been following spore for ages, looks bloody awesome, i spent all day looking for a demo today and cant find one (shame) even just a release of the creature editor to mess around with.

ive got hundreds of ideas for creatures(i have an overactive imagination) including demonoid creatures and just for laughs a succubus to ahhh... liven up the game world and various wyrmesque creatures.

what i would like to know is if you can put any type of wings on your creature also if they have any function or are merely cosmetic, also as i have seen in the movie after the tide pool phase you move into the water i was wondering if instead of growing legs you can keep your fins and build a city underwater instead of having to go on land.

any help would be appreciated.

p.s. noobstains stop posting about having or knowing of a demo as of today there is yet to be a release of one.

I beileve you can stay with a more fishy like thing but i would still probably use land.

No you will not encounter enemy UFO's in space.

You cannot put wings on creatures and if you can your creature can still not fly only vehicles can fly.

Yes you can make underwater cities/civilizations just like in space. If you have seen the spore video you see Will near the end drop one of the creatures he abducted onto a planets moon and explode showing you have to make atmoshpere. You also hear him say that you can make atmosphere on planets that are unhabitable with your UFO/pocketknife.

For those that asked about making underwater creatures. This won't be happening. It had to be cut out of the original game. It will be in the first expansion though.

My creature will be aquatic and, look at the main movie of spore and then if the creature walks out of the water look up and you'l see a bug like thing flying above you, flying creatures are able. and how would other creatures (from other planets) be able to attack you if they have no ships so I think they have normal (no super ships or UFO's) ships.

They just show you the things that are not buggy. didnt you notice that they jump from one phase to another without seeing the real conversion? maby that whas a bug? they did not show everything so maby those are just not the bugs (or you just dont see them ^^)

I have never found a decent creature editor demo.

The Knowing Prophet of Spore a.k.a (TKPS) I also asked the same question about both Halo games and they told me the release date but when that day came around they always got delayed and I imagine that the same will happen to this one, considering how nice and visually beautiful it is.

Sorry to but in again but does anyone know what type of Graphic Card will be required to play the game or other outrageous software, yes expect it a game that looks this good will require some powerful hardware.  My comp can run WoW but im questioning if my comp will run this game.

I'm pretty sure that u only need to run 3d for graphics if u cant run 3d then u might not be able to run it past the cellular stage

Hmmm, because sometimes the web has more reliable info then GameStop. The guy at my local GameStop said that Spore was cancelled. I looked on Sporeuniverse.net, and they had it right. It should come out next year. And it is quite hipocrytacle when you tell me to not look on the web, when you look on this site.

Here it finally is a new demo of spore! It is only in the cellular stage and this guy is trying to update the game and make it better. The demo isn't that good and can get repetitive if you get annoyed by the constant resetting of your points in the top right corner if you don't accumulate them fast enough. But don't fret because new versions will be out sooner or later.

On June 20, 2007, it was announced by EA that Spore has "slipped out of fiscal 08 into fiscal 09". Fiscal 08 ends on March 31, 2008 however so the game could release as early as April 1, 2008

Ok guys I have some news and im positive it is 100% true...

I went to my neiborhood Gamestop and the release date of Spore will be March 4th 2008. I am not saying that the date will not be changed prior to this time but at the moment this release date is truely March 4 2008.

Also some extra news I do hope that the demo comes out  This month like BladeOfDeath said (August 17) but I have browsed the internet and almost all of the websites say that the demo will be released seven weeks before the release. The information on the demo is that it will be a beta demo of the creature editor...

YAY :)

Although I am not sure what it will include.

well a creature editor is definately what we have been wanting so im good but no one ever gave a link to where to get the demo when its out... have u just found information and not the thing or u just forgot the link or is the page just not ready yet?

As of now I beleive there is no official place or website the Spore demo will be released at but I suspect it will most likely either be a free promotional demo given away at stores or bought. Stores include (most likely) EB Games, Gamestop, Circuit City, Walmart, EBX, ect...

i got the demo today from eb games. you have to have already signed up for it when the lottery was available 2 weeks before the demo release. The number of demos available to each store was determined by total sales and my store only was allowed to have 2 but i knew the manager so she rigged it so i could have one. all i can say is AWESOME DEMO

Or so the first words of the first hands on review of Spore starts off. Most of the review is things we’ve already heard elsewhere — except this time they’re being echoed by a real player. To me, that’s pretty important — because he runs into things that you wouldn’t think of normally (holy crap… what do I evolve on my player first?). The most interesting part of the review for me is the speed at which it goes through. I’m assuming he was only given an hour, maybe two to play with the game — and during that time he completely blew past the cell stage and was on to land. I wonder if they had sped up his DNA point accumulation or if that’s the real speed of the game.

A release date?

It’s at this time that we start to think again about Spore’s release date. Oh, yes — everyone’s favorite statement around here. For what it’s worth, I think opening up the game to 3rd parties is EA’s proof that they are in fact done with the game. I’m thinking within the first few weeks of QA (Quality Assurance) testing, they should be able to get a good handle on when they can ship this thing. Here’s hoping to a strong release date soon!

yes.... that was one of the requirements to use this comment board.... and problems are graphics and most likely a few bugs with creature editor (no PROBLEMS with graphics they just tweaking it a bit to make it better)

well i been bizzy so i ahve not check in like 3 weeks so have not posted :) also there not much more i can post about this game i posted like everything i can say

but now i have seen games that are geting just as good as spore so spore my not be on peoples list by the time it comes out :) it will still be on mine but crysis is one of the good games it is out right now just came out not that long ago and they used the best 3d program out there for this game and already play demo for the game it quite good i played the demo many times over already :)

Spore developers should really read this board. I mean there was a period a year ago when everyone was nuts about hits game. That period lasted for a few months, but without a demo, and with the release date so far away most of the people who were initially excited about the game are not going to be interested by the time it comes out. It's stupid to tell people about a developing game more than a year before it comes out. Especially if you go around demoing it to the entire world, and leave the people watching with nothing. By the time this game comes out nobody is going to be interested anymore except like the 4 of us. If you're out there Will don't leave us hanging like this. A demo or at least the creature editor. Something. I'd really like to still be interested by the time the release date crawls into view.
