Minor facelift to the site

November 28, 2004 4:37 PM

I took advantage of being separated from my Xbox and spent the last couple days upgrading this site. Most noticeable is that I made the font smaller. I made this change while using my dad's huge flatscreen, and it looks better here, but hopefully the font is still readable on other computers.

I only use relative font sizes, which means if you change your computer or browser settings to show fonts larger or smaller, the fonts on my site should change size to reflect that. The downside is that there is not a standard size for "medium" - so what might look like a nice readable point size to me might be absurdly small for you.

So, if you can't read this, let me know. :)

Comments

On my screen the body looks good but the date, time, category, permalink and comment link are a little tough to read. Here is a link to a screen shot that I took for you. http://photos.timmacrina.com/special/dg_screenshot.jpg

btw. I am running a Dell 20 inch LCD at 1600x1200

Thanks Tim. It also looks pretty bad in Mozilla, especially the Newest Photo Captions...

Well, I use Firefox on XP. With 1280x1024 and the default font size in Firefox it is a little small for me. The Newest Photo Caption on the right side is almost unreadable.

Woah, the photo album pages are totally messed up in Mozilla. Going to have to look at that again later... Everything else seems to look fine in IE and Mozilla in Windows, next step is to make it all work for the two or three Mac users out there.

Looks good now.

Hi Tim,

The site is much easier to read now. I like it better than before. Good job.

Oops. Sorry. I was looking at Tim's post when writing that out. My bad. Please accept my apologies.

Site still looks good. :)

i'm liking the changes you've made here on the comments page.... looks pretty spanky, bud ;)

Thanks foO! Believe me, I spent a lot of time staring at your site trying to figure out what I needed to change on mine to make it easier on the eyes.

Lots more needs to be done, but I think it's going in the right direction.

good site
